2013 Blogging

In 2013, I wrote 41 new posts — which in all honesty is itty bitty compared to previous years. There are many times this year where I’ve felt like I can’t write publicly {I know, I know — goes against what I’m about}. I’ve been confused as to if I’ve felt censored, or just not ready to share what I’ve been thinking. More to come on that in the next few weeks.

The busiest day of the year was November 3rd with 935 views. Woop! That’s the day I went on a rant about Instagram and how people need to start embracing their true selves. Yep, true story. The post: #RealTalk.

Some of my most popular posts have been from previous years — thank you to everyone who’s still reading the story of my breast lumpectomy. Although it feels like I was writing that post an eternity ago {2010}, I still flashback to that summer every day.

My readers have come from 119 countries — with a whole pile of fan girls {and boys} in Canada! This year I’ve grown a readership is Bosnia and Latvia, which seems pretty random — and awesome!

Thank you for reading, pushing me to dream bigger and being a constant source of inspiration.

Happy 2014. xo

2012 Blogging

Fun facts:

In 2012, I wrote 90 new posts, growing the total archive of this blog to 248 posts.

The busiest day of the year was October 4th with 655 views. That’s the day I went rampage on Kitchen Aid. The post: Kitchen Aid Social Media Debacle. Note: The lady still hasn’t been fired yet.

My readers have come from 116 countries. Most visitors came from Canada, then the United States, then the UK.

My most active commenter was a psycho stalker who I ended up reporting as spam. ;) Much love to Tod, Nikki and Kymme who also gave me a whole lotta love in 2012.

This beast of a little girl blog had it’s most traffic to date — and I wrote less posts than I have in the past few years. Woop!

On to the next one! Happy 2013 everyone. xx

2010 blogging

Awhile ago I received an email from WordPress indicating 2010 blog successes and statistics. I switched from Blogspot to WordPress in early 2010, primarily for a need to measure stats, and was pleasantly surprised to get the email.

In review…

This blog was viewed 10,191 times in 2010. That’s absolutely crazy. I have never thought of my blog as something that people read. I write because I enjoy it. I don’t write for other people, I write for me.

In 2010, there were 113 new posts! There were 227 pictures uploaded, taking up a total of 151mb. That’s about 4 pictures per week.

The busiest day of the year was October 1st with 307 views. The most popular post that day was a voice. This post touches my heart the most and I’m proud to say it still gets about 50 views a day.

Where did they come from?

The top referring sites in 2010 were twitter.com, facebook.com, hootsuite.com, Google Reader, and marleylynng.blogspot.com. Love to little Miss Marley.

I have been at a blogging standstill for awhile. In late 2010, I promised myself that I would launch two new websites in 2011 – one business/HR related and the other, a more formal personal blog. In January I was connected with a top notch IT guy and he outlined the steps to website success. I know exactly what needs to be done, and have a pretty good idea of how to get there. Coming home from Belize and being sick with these creatures (parasites from brushing my teeth with the water – yum!) has given me an excuse to put website design & development on the back burner.

Well no longer. Stay tuned for new site launches this Spring.

Thank you for making my 2010 amazing. With all my heart, XO.
