I use the term “A-game” all the time… like ALL THE TIME. “Better get your A-game on” … “Ooo just brought your A-game” … blah blah blah. I have no idea if this is an actual term or not, so I decided to check the always truthful and dependable, UrbanDictionary.com. The result:
a) A player’s (or his lesser counterparts) best game, one usually brings his A game when the women are more attractive and therefore a greater challenge. Derived from the letter grade in school, “A”.
Example: “didn’t get her number?” “She just didn’t see my A game” “She didn’t see your B or C game either.”
b) The term can also be used for other definitions of game.
Example: “better bring your A game for the halo tournament”
I was just on my way home thinking, “damn, I need to bring my A-game this afternoon”… and laughed. How ridiculous does that sound? To me, A-game is about having all your ducks in a row. Being the best you can be. Treating people right. Achievement. Success. If for some reason you were rated on your behaviour or action, you would get the letter grade “A”.
Who wouldn’t want to strive for A-game? :)
Anyways, the point of this post. For whatever reason, I planned two events for today – both at either ends of the spectrum. I have two hours to get my A-game together. A very successful afternoon is in the works.
